Czech minority and its contribution to the development of the town Zittau

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je analyzovat přínos české menšiny pro rozvoj města Žitava, které ve svém rozvojovém úsilí silně spoléhá na spolupráci s českou stranou. V první části práce jsou popsána obecná teoretická východiska, jejichž znalost je důležitá pro empirickou část, v metodologickém oddílu jsou popsány principy, podle kterých byla sbírána data a důvody jejich volby. Jako hlavní výstup lze považovat identifikaci hlavních push-pull faktorů, které vedou Čechy k přesunu do německé Žitavy, identifikaci rozvojových výhod a nevýhod v Žitavě a vyšetření možného rozvojového vlivu pro město Žitava.

Abstract:

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the impact of the Czech minority on the development of the town of Zittau, which heavily relies on the partnership with the Czech counterparty in its development practices. In the first part of the thesis, a general baseline important for the understanding of the empirical part of the thesis is outlined while in the methods section, data collection techniques are described together with a provision of particular reasons for a choice of the described techniques. As the main outcome, an identification of the main push-pull factors which make Czech citizens move to Zittau is expected together with the identification of development pros and cons in Zittau and the possible impact on the development of the town of Zittau.
