The History of the Castle Obora

Abstract:

Historie zámečku Obora Letohrádek Obora byl postaven v letech 1903-1904 JUDr. Václavem z českého rodu Kouniců. Zámek byl postaven na katastru Drslavice u města Uherský Brod podle plánů známého architekta Václava Wittnera v novorománském slohu a byl věnován 2.manželce Václava Kounice Josefíně. Po smrti hraběte roku 1913 se zde Josefína zdržovala málokdy, l. a 2.světovou válku prožila v Praze. Zámek byl nejprve obsazen německou posádkou. Při osvobození ČSR po 26.dubnu 1945 vojáky Sovětské armády došlo k značnému poškození vnitřního zařízení zámku a krádežím nábytku a cenností místními obyvateli. Po roce 1948 byla Obora zabrána totalitním státem a přidělena ke správě ONV v Uherském Brodě. Až v roce 1952 byl zámku přiznán statut památky II.kategorie. Do roku 1965 v něm sídlila Vnitřní stráž české armády. ONV Uherské Hradiště po ní převzal správu zámku a neúspěšně hledal pro nemovitost uživatele. Roku 1981 byla kvůli celkové zchátralosti provedena demolice zámku.

Abstract:

The History of the Castle Obora The pleasure house Obora was built in years 1903-1904 by JUDr. Václav Kounic from the Czech aristocracy ancestry Kounic. Castle was built in register Drslavice near town Uherský Brod according to the plan of architect Václav Wittner in new Romantic style and it was dedicated to the second wife of Václav Kounic, Josefina. After the death of the lord in 1913 Josefina stayed there a little, during the first and the second world war she lived in Prague. The castle was occupated by the Germany army at first. At liberation of ČSR after the 26. April 1945 by the Soviet soldiers, it came to an extensive damage of the castle interior, and some furniture and valuables were stolen by the local people. After 1948 Obora was occuppied by the totalitarian state and assigned to authority of District office (ONV) in Uherský Brod. Finally in 1952 the castle was proclaimed a II.kategory monument. Till 1965 it was the quarters of the Inside Internal patrol of the Czech army. Then the ONV Uherské Hradiště took control of it and the searched unsuccessfully for an estate user. In 1981 the castle was demolished due to ramshackle conditions.
