Articulation of consonantal "r" after short vowels

Abstract:

Content of this thesis is concerned with linguistic area-phonetic and phonology. At first it has been described four variants of german consonant “R”. In german language, there are distinguished four types of “R”: the uvular trill [Zäpfchen-r], the uvular fricative [Reibe-r], the apical trill [Zungenspitzen-r] and the devoicing of R. In spoken language some rules exist, when consonantal R or devoicing R should be used. Consonantal R should be pronounced: at the beginning of the word or syllable, after consonant and at the end in the clusters such as: [rr,rrh]. On the other hand, there are some fixed rules for the correct pronunciation of devoicing R: in unstressed prefix [er-, ver-, zer-, her-], suffix [-er], and after long vowels. If short vowels are before R, R should be pronounced. At the end of thesis, there are analyses of a speech of famous people [Angela Merkel, Hanni Hüsch, Annette Dittert and Franz Müntefering]. From the records it has been found out, that R is not frequently pronounced after short vowels.

Obsah danej bakalárskej práce pojednáva o problematike z oblasti fonetiky a fonológie. V práci sú uvedené štyri varianty nemeckej spoluhlásky R a to: Uvulárne R-Zäpfchen R, Dental-alveolárne R-Zungenspitzen R, Vokalisované R-vokalisiertes R und Trené R-Reibe R. Obsah sa úzko špecializuje na výslovnosť R po krátkych vokáloch, kde má zaznieť jasné R. V ústnom prejave často dochádza k redukcii, a namiesto konsonantického R znie vokalizované R. Práca je doplnená praktickou časťou, v ktorej je zrovnávaná výslovnosť známych osobností z Nemeckej Spolkovej Republiky: Angela Merkel, Hanni Hüsch, Annette Dittert, Franz Müntefering.
