The Relationship Between Early Attachment and Types of Motivation for Engaging in Sports Activities: The Role of Perfectionism, Well-being, and Personality Dimensions According to the Big Five Model

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo prozkoumat souvislost rané vazby a různých typů motivace k pohybové aktivitě. Dále propojuje zmíněné fenomény s perfekcionismem, subjektivní pohodou a osobnostními rysy dle modelu Big Five jako proměnnými. Studie byla realizována za využití kvantitativního výzkumného designu prostřednictvím administrace online dotazníku. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 122 respondentů ve věku 18 až 30 let. Výsledky ukázaly, že raná vazba představuje významný prediktor zejména amotivace, perfekcionismus byl spojen s kontrolovanějšími formami motivace a well-being s vyšší vnitřní motivací. Mimoto byl prokázán význam osobnostních rysů, zejména Extraverze. Výzkumná zjištění zdůrazňují komplexnost fenoménu motivace k pohybu a důležitost individuálních psychosociálních aspektů.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was to investigate the relationship between early attachment and different types of motivation to physical activity. Furthermore, it links the former phenomena with perfectionism, subjective well-being and personality traits according to the Big Five model as variables. The study was conducted using a quantitative research design through the administration of an online questionnaire. The research population consisted of 122 respondents aged 18 to 30 years. The results showed that early attachment was a significant predictor of amotivation, perfectionism was associated with more controlled forms of motivation, and well being with higher intrinsic motivation. Furthermore, the importance of personality traits, especially Extraversion, was demonstrated. The research findings highlight the complexity of the phenomenon of motivation to exercise and the importance of individual psychosocial aspects.
