Tax literacy of generation Z and Y

Abstract:

Juráčková, A. Daňová gramotnost generace Z a Y. Bakalářská práce. Brno: Mendelova univerzita v Brně, 2024. Bakalářská práce se zabývá daňovou gramotností jedinců z generací Z a Y. Cílem práce je zmapovat současný stav daňové gramotnosti generace Z a Y. Následně na základě získaných poznatků zformulovat doporučení, která by mohla vést ke zvýšení této úrovně. Pro tuto práci byl využit kvantitativní výzkum, konkrétně dotazníkové šetření. V první části práce se zaměřím na různé typy gramotnosti, jako je obecná, funkční a finanční. Dále zkoumám metody hodnocení úrovně gramotnosti a současný stav výzkumu v této oblasti v České republice. Poté se zaměřím na charakteristiku jednotlivých generací, s důrazem na generace Y a Z. Ve druhé části práce je provedena empirická analýza, která testuje jednotlivé hypotézy. Výsledky výzkumu přinášejí důležité poznatky o úrovni daňové gramotnosti generací Z a Y a navrhují možná opatření a intervence pro zlepšení této situace.

Abstract:

Juráčková, A. Tax literacy of generation Z and Y. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2024. This bachelor thesis focuses on tax literacy of individuals from generations Z and Y. Given the analysis of obtained data our thesis furthermore tries to form recommendations that could potentionally raise the tax literacy level of these in-dividuals. This thesis uses quantitative reseach within questionnaire survey. Firstly we are defining the overall basic terminology of literacy and types such as gen-eral, functional and financial. Additionally we are trying to analyse given ranking methods of literacy levels and current state of tax literacy in this particular topic in Czech Republic. The thesis then defines the characteristics of individual generations, with an emphasis on generation Z and Y. An empirical data analysis was car-ried out to test our suggested individual hypotheses. Conclusion of this bachelor thesis brings critical findings and insights in problematic of tax literacy for genera-tions Z a Y and possible advices for improvement in this topic.
