Impacts of Covid-19 on selected sectors of industry in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá dopady pandemie Covid-19 na ekonomiku a průmysl v České republice. Hlavním cílem je analyzovat dopad pandemie na dvě zvolená odvětví průmyslu České republiky. Pro naplnění tohoto cíle budou využita hlavně data z Českého statistického úřadu, Ministerstva průmyslu a obchodu a Ministerstva financí, popřípadě jiných institucí. V úvodní části práce teoretický úvod k řešenému problému. Hlavní část práce se zaměřuje na dopady pandemie na ekonomiku jako celek a na dvě vybraná odvětví průmyslu České republiky. Prvním je odvětví cestovního ruchu, které bylo mezi nejvíce zasaženými. Druhým zvoleným odvětvím je stavebnictví. V závěrečné části práce je zhodnocení účinnosti programů vládní pomoci a možné prognózy budoucího vývoje.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis deals with the impact od Covid-19 on economy and industry in Czech Republic. The main aim is to analyse the impact of the pandemic on the two chosen industries of the Czech Republic. Data from Czech statistical office, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Finance will be used to meet this goal. In the opening part, there is a theoretical introduction to the problem. The main part of thesis focuses on the effect of the pandemic on the economy as a whole and on two selected sectors of industry in the Czech Republic. The first is the Tourism sector, which was among the hardest hit. The second sector chosen is civil engineering. The final part of the thesis includes an assessment of the effec-tiveness of government assistance programmes and possible forecast of future developments.
