Non-lethal weapons and their use within the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na problematiku neletálních zbraní a jejich využívání v bezpečnostní praxi, a to se zaměřením na využívání neletálních zbraní v praxi rezortu Ministerstva obrany. Nejprve budou v textu práce vymezeny ústřední pojmy celého zkoumaného tématu, následně bude na příkladu rezortu Ministerstva obrany prezentováno využití neletálních zbraní společně se způsoby a předpoklady pro jejich využití v praxi. Práce se skládá z teoretické části, ve které je představena oblast neletálních zbraní a následně z části praktické, ve které je popsána metodika, výzkumný vzorek a výsledky realizovaného dotazníkového šetření. Shrnutí zjištěných výsledků a formulace možných zlepšení je zapracováno v diskuzi, která navazuje na výzkumné šetření. V práci byly využity metody literární rešerše, analýzy, syntézy, deskripce, interpretace a komparace. Cílem práce je na základě analýzy současného stavu zkoumané problematiky navrhnout možné změny a doporučení z hlediska využívání neletálních zbraní v rámci rezortu Ministerstva obrany.

Abstract:

This bachelor´s thesis deals with the topic of non-lethal weapons and their usage in safety practice regarding the usage of non-lethal weapons within the service of Ministry of Defence (Czech Republic). Firstly, the main terms of the researched topic are defined. Secondly, there is an example of non-lethal weapons used in the practise of Ministry of Defence described. Moreover, the means and presumptions of non-lethal weapons usage in safety practice are specified. The bachelor´s thesis consists of the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the introduction to non-lethal weapons. The practical part focuses on methodology, research sample and results of the questionnaire survey. In conclusion, there is the summary of the survey results. The discussion naming possible improvements is connected to the survey results. The methods of literar research, analysis, synthesis, description, interpretation, and comparison were used in the thesis. The main goal of the thesis is to propose possible changes and recommendations in non-lethal weapons usage within Ministry of Defence based on the analysis of the current state of the non-lethal weapons usage.
