The aristocratic family od Rothschild as an example of the rise of Jewish family among nobles and owners of large estates

Abstract:

Tato bakalářské práce se zabývá historii šlechtického rodu Rothschildů v Habsburské monarchii, kdy Rothschildové jsou zde popisování jako příklad vzestupu představitelů židovského obyvatelstva mezi šlechtice a držitelé deskových statků na Moravě a v Pruském Slezsku. Práce dále poukazuje na jejich působení na Ostravsku a také způsoby, jakými zasáhli do ekonomiky tehdejší Evropy v 19. století. Vzhledem ke skutečnosti, že Rothschildové byli židovského vyznání, je v práci také zpracována stručná historie židovského obyvatelstva v českých zemích do roku 1848. Práce dále sleduje, kdy a za jakých podmínek byly udělovány Židům šlechtické tituly, jak v Habsburské monarchii v porovnání s Pruským královstvím, kde spadaly Šilheřovice, se kterými je rod Rothschildů úzce spojován. Nejvýznamnějším představitelem rodu Rothschildů byl Salomon Mayer Rothschild (1774-1855), který byl zakladatelem vídeňské větve rodu Rothschildů a také jeden z hlavních představitelů rakouských podnikatelů.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with the history of the Rothschild aristocratic family in the Habsburg monarchy, where the Rothschilds are described here as an example of the rise of the Jewish population among nobles and holders of plate estates in Moravia and Prussian Silesia. The work also points to their activities in the Ostrava region and also the ways in which they affected the economy of the Europe in 19th century. Due the fact that the Rothschilds were of the Jewish faith, the thesis also deals with a brief history of the Jewish population in the Czech lands until 1848. The work also monitors when and under what conditions aristocratic titles were awarded to Jews, both in the Habsburg monarchy in comparison with the Kingdom of Prussia, where Šilheřovice belonged with which the Rothschild family is closely associated. The most important representative of the Rothschild family was Salomon Mayer Rothschild (1774-1855), who was the founder of the Viennese branch of the Rothschild family and also one of the main representatives of Austrian businessmen.
