Abstract:

Diplomová práce Architektura obytného prostoru v literatuře se zabývá významem obytného prostoru v románovém vyprávění. První část práce představuje teoretické seznámení s významem obytného prostoru pro děj románu a je představen způsob, jak je obytný prostor vnímán románovými postavami, potažmo čtenářem a do jaké míry toto vnímaní ovlivňuje jejich chování. Následně je tento přístup aplikován při analýze románů Skleněný pokoj, Sto roků samoty a Tatér z Osvětimi. V každém z těchto románů jsou zkoumány významné architektonické prvky obytného prostoru, které se v příběhu objevují. Práce analyzuje význam těchto prvků pro románové postavy a samotný děj, přičemž je kladen důraz na rozlišení exteriéru a interiéru. Cílem práce je obsáhnout důležitost obytného prostoru pro děj a postavy vybraných románů a odpovědět na otázku, kdy se obytný prostor může stát dějotvorným činitelem.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the importance of dwelling space in a novel. The first part of the thesis introduces the theoretical introduction to the significance of the dwelling space for the plot of the novel and the way how the dwelling space is perceived by the fictional characters, or the reader, and to what extent this perception influences their behavior. Subsequently, this approach is applied in the analysis of the novels The Glass Room, One Hundred Years of Solitude and The Tattooist from Auschwitz. There are analyzed significant architectural features of the dwelling space that appear in the stories of each of these novels. The thesis interprets the significance of these elements for fictional characters and the plot itself, with emphasis on the distinction between exterior and interior. The aim of the thesis is to cover the importance of the dwelling space for the plot and the characters of selected novels and to answer when the dwelling space can become a plotter.
