The subject of this bachelor work is to research gerunds and to analyse their translations. The work is divided into two parts. The first part, which is theoretical, mentions the notion of gerunds and presents basic properties that specify this linguistic phenomenon. Cílem této bakalářské práce je určení přechodníku přítomného z francouzského do českého jazyka. Práce je založena na studiu a porovnání tohoto gramatického jevu. Jako zdroj byly vybrány dvě knihy spisovatele Andreïe Makina a jedna kniha od spisovatelky Amélie Nothombové, ve kterých jsme vyhledali přechodníky, které jsme potom porovnali s českými překlady.
