Insurance reserves of commercial insurance companies

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá metodami pro vytváření pojistně-technických rezerv v komerčních pojišťovnách. Význam a struktura pojistných rezerv jsou uvedeny v teoretické části. Praktická část je rozdělena do dvou částí. První část se zabývá metodami pro stanovení výše pojistných rezerv na nezasloužené pojistné a jejich aplikací na praktickém příkladu. Druhá část se zaměřuje na speciální metody pro stanovení výše rezerv na pojistná plnění, nazývané run-off trojúhelníkové metody. Z těchto metod byly vybrány čtyři a aplikovány na reálná data jedné z českých pojišťoven.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with claims reserving methods in commercial insurance. Importance and structure of claim reserves are introduced in the theoretical part. Practical part is divided into two parts. The first part deals with the methods for determining the amounts of claim reserves of unearned premiums and with application of these methods to practical example. The second part focuses on the special methods for determining the amounts of reserves for insurance claims. These methods are called run-off triangle methods. Four of these methods are applied to real data of one Czech insurance company.
