Mn and Fe Content of Quercus robur L. Leaves in Relation to Soil and Intensity of Forest Management in the Area with Highly Mineralized Groundwater Inflow

Abstract:

Vodní režim a složení podzemní vody zásadně ovlivňují vývoj lužních lesů. Bakalářská práce zkoumá obsah Mn a Fe v listech Quercus robur L. v oblastech tvrdého a měkkého luhu v soutokové oblasti řek Jihlavy a Svratky. Obsah prvků byl zkoumán na výzkumných lokalitách v jádrové a okrajové zóně lužního lesa v přírodní rezervaci (PR) Plačkův les a říčka Šatava a na referenční lokalitě hospodářského lesa. Vzorky listů byly odebírány podle ICP forests v druhé polovině vegetačního období. Půdní vzorky byly odebírány v letech 2019 a 2020 z hloubky 0–10 cm. Množství Mn a Fe v listech a přístupné formy v půdě bylo stanoveno metodou AAS. Obsah prvků v listech se mezi lokalitami významně lišil. Obsah Mn se na referenční lokalitě významně lišil od lokalit v PR. Obsah Fe se významně lišil od okrajové zóny přírodní rezervace. Vzájemná, pozitivní, korelace mezi obsahem Mn v listech a v půdě byla potvrzena pouze na úrovni celkových dat pro všechny lokality. Na jednotlivých lokalitách korelace nebyla potvrzena. Vzájemná korelace obsahu Fe mezi listy a půdou potvrzena nebyla ani na úrovni jednotlivých lokalit, ani pro celková data. Hodnoty obsahu Mn v listech byly vyhodnoceny jako zvýšené, hodnoty Fe se výrazně nelišily od hodnot uváděných v dostupné odborné literatuře.

Abstract:

The water regime and the composition of the groundwater fundamentally influence the development of floodplain forests. The bachelor thesis investigates the Mn and Fe content of Quercus robur L. leaves in floodplain forest in the confluence area of the Jihlava and Svratka rivers. The content of elements was investigated at research sites in the core and marginal zone of the floodplain forest in the Plaček Forest and Šatava River Nature Reserve and at the reference site of the economic forest. Leaf samples were collected according to ICP forests in the second half of the growing season. Soil samples were collected in 2019 and 2020 from 0–10 cm depth. The content of Mn and Fe in leaves and accessible forms in soil was determined by AAS. The elemental content in leaves varied significantly between sites. The Mn content at the reference site differed significantly from the nature reserve sites. The Fe content differed significantly from the marginal zone of the nature reserve. A positive correlation between leaf and soil Mn content was confirmed only at the level of total data for all sites. No correlation was confirmed at individual sites. The correlation between Fe content in leaves and soil was not confirmed either at the individual site level or for the total data. Leaf Mn values were assessed as elevated, while Fe values were not significantly different from those reported in the available literature.
