Implementation of selected spectral analysis methods of time series

Abstract:

V této práci jsou zkoumány základní metody spektrální analýzy časových řad, které jsou následně realizovány v programovém prostředí R. Na základě těchto metod by mělo být patrné, jak pracovat s periodicitou v časové řadě a jak za doprovodu grafických výstupů intuitivně posuzovat charakteristiky těchto metod. Hlavním cílem práce je realizovat v prostředí R vybrané metody spektrální analýzy časových řad. Jedním z dílčích cílů je poskytnout výstupy těchto algoritmů, jak numerické, tak grafické, a to na vybraných časových řadách. Dalším dílčím cílem je práci koncipovat návodně, tedy aby čtenář na základě poskytnutých teoretických poznatků byl schopen provést analýzu problematiky a následně také syntézu. Dále by měl prostřednictvím prostředí R tuto problematiku umět realizovat programově a zhodnotit správnost řešení, popřípadě metody na základě vhodných návrhů uvedených v praktické části modifikovat ke specifickým účelům ve statistické praxi.

Abstract:

This thesis explores the fundamental methods of the spectral analysis of time series that are consequently implemented in the R software environment. On the basis of these methods it should be obvious how to work (operate) with a periodicity in a time series and how to intuitively assess the characteristics of these methods in the company of (accompanied by) graphical outputs. The main objective of the thesis is to implement the selected methods of the spectral analysis of time series in the R environment. One of the partial objectives is to provide the outputs of these algorithms, both numerical and graphical, on the selected time series. Another partial objective is to conceive the thesis as indicative (instructive) so that the reader would be able to carry out the analysis of an issue as well as the synthesis on the basis of the theoretical findings provided. Further he or she should be able to implement this issue in a software by means of the R environment and to assess the correctness of the solution, eventually to modify the methods on the basis of suitable proposals (suggestions) introduced in the practical section.
