The Construction of Career Management Skills Inventory and Its Psychometrics Verification

Abstract:

Předložená práce se zabývá kariérními kompetencemi (career management skills), jejich definicí, důležitostí jejich měření. Analýzou a syntézou již existujících modelů představujeme nový model 12 kompetencí potřebných pro získávání, udržování a vytváření kariéry a ověřujeme jeho přenositelnost do českého prostředí. Na jeho základě poté konstruujeme nový nástroj, IKarKo – Inventář kariérních kompetencí, který je reliabilní z hlediska vnitřní konzistence škál a časově stabilní. Našli jsme také důkazy souběžné validity s nástrojem BIP. Nástroj je tak připraven k širokému použití.

Abstract:

The presented work deals with career management skills, their definition and the importance of their measurement. By analysing and synthesizing existing models, we introduce a new model of 12 competencies needed for acquiring, maintaining and creating a career. We also verify its transferability to the Czech environment. Based on this model, we then construct a new tool, IKarKo - Inventory of Career Competencies. This tool is reliable in terms of the internal consistency of scales and temporal stability. We also found evidence of concurrent validity with the BIP tool. The Inventory is thus ready for wide use.
