Abstract:

Střelecký spolek v Lokti byl nedílnou součástí historie města po téměř čtyři sta let, a to od poloviny 16. století do první poloviny 20. století. Jeho členové byli přítomni mnoha historickým událostem nebo se na nich spolupodíleli. Účastnili se obrany města v dobách válečných i na jeho obnově a rozvoji v dobách míru. Povinné členství se v průběhu let stalo otázkou cti a společenské prestiže a v mnoha případech také rodinnou tradicí. Členy spolku byli kromě obyčejných občanů také státní a městští úředníci včetně starostů nebo vlastníci okolních manufaktur či průmyslových podniků. V době největšího rozkvětu koncem 19. a na počátku 20. století se bez přítomnosti členů střeleckého spolku neobešly ani různé kulturní akce, oslavy a jiné společenské události. Loketský spolek byl sice v oblasti dnešního Karlovarského kraje jedním z mnoha, ale patřil bezesporu k těm nejznámějším a nejvýznamnějším. Jeho střelci se opakovaně umísťovali mezi nejlepšími při různých střeleckých kláních a soutěžích. Události z konce 30. a počátku 40. let 20. století však znamenaly pro spolek a spolkový život v Lokti konec. Na tradici loketských střelců navázali až teprve poměrně nedávno nadšenci z řad současných obyvatel města. Snaží se v mnoha směrech jít ve stopách svých předchůdců, a to jak v oblasti společenských aktivit včetně střeleckých soutěží, tak i v oblasti svého vybavení, svých zbraní a uniforem.

Abstract:

Shooting Association in Loket was an inherent part of history of the city for almost four hundred years, from the 16th century to the first half of the 20th century. Its members attended lots of historical happenings. They participated in defense of the city during wars, and in its reconstruction and development in peacetime. As the time went on, compulsory membership turned into a matter of honor, social prestige and in many cases, family tradition, too. Beside common inhabitants, public and urban officials (mayors and owners of surrounding manufactories or industrial companies included) were members of the Association as well. In the time of the largest upswing around the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, none of various cultural events, celebrations and other social events would be happening without the Associations' members' attendance. Although the Association in Loket was one of many associations in the area of today's Carlsbad region, it definitely belonged to the most famous and important ones. Its shooters were repeatedly ranked among the best in various shooting competitions. Happenings from the end of thirties and beginning of forties in the 20th century meant the end for the Association. Lately, enthusiasts among the present inhabitants of the city have been continuing in the tradition of shooters of Loket. They try to follow their forerunners in many ways, from social activities such as shooting competitions to their equipment, their guns and uniforms.
