Abstract:

Škvoreckého "Jih proti Severu" Nevěsta z Texasu Román s prvky americké občanské války, zaměřený na české emigranty, kteří se války účastnili a bojovali o zrození moderní demokratické velmoci. Škvoreckého jazyková forma vytváří naprosto jedinečný typ historického románu, v němž autor zachytil americké dějiny. Prolínají se tu životy lidí na dvou kontinentech., což je v podtextu autorovou osobní zkušeností, neboť po roce 1968 emigroval, stejně tak, jako postavy v díle.

Abstract:

Joseph´s Škvorecky "Gone with the Wind" The Brede of Texas A novel with elements of the American Civil War, focusing on the Czech emigrants, who participated in the war and fought for the birth of modern democratic superpower. Škvorecký linguistic form creates a totally unique kind of historical novel in which the author captured American history. Intertwinded with the lives of people on two continents, which is the subtext of the author´s personal experience, because after he emigrate in 1968, as well as the characters in the work.
