Pre-hospital Emergency Care for an Intoxicated Patient in Adolescence

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku přednemocniční neodkladné péče u intoxikovaného pacienta v období dospívání. Cílem průzkumu je získat informace o zkušenostech a názorech zdravotních záchranářů a nelékařského personálu na dětských akutních příjmech, které mohou přispět k lepšímu pochopení a zlepšení poskytované péče v této specifické oblasti. Práce se také zaměřuje na zkoumání trendů v nárůstu případů intoxikace mezi adolescenty a na identifikaci faktorů, které mohou ovlivnit příčiny užívání návykových látek mezi mladistvými. Průzkum ukazuje, že případy intoxikace u adolescentů skutečně narůstají, což vyvolává obavy o další generace. Na základě těchto zjištění byl vytvořen edukační materiál ve formě posteru, který by mohl být distribuován do škol, dětských oddělení a dalších institucí. Tento materiál by mohl posloužit nejen k informování o rizicích spojených s experimentováním s omamnými a návykovými látkami a důsledky intoxikace pro zdraví, ale také rodičům, aby věděli, jak se zachovat v případě intoxikace svého dítěte, jaká rizika intoxikace přináší a jaké kroky je potřeba podniknout v takových situacích. Průzkum přináší důležitý příspěvek k porozumění této problematice a k rozvoji preventivních opatření v oblasti adolescentní intoxikace.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of pre-hospital emergency care for intoxicated patients during adolescence. The aim of the research is to gather information on the experiences and opinions of emergency medical responders and non-medical staff in pediatric emergency departments, which could contribute to a better understanding and improvement of care in this specific area. The thesis also examines trends in the increasing number of adolescent intoxication cases and identifies factors that may influence the causes of substance use among minors. The research shows that cases of intoxication among adolescents are indeed rising, raising concerns about future generations. Based on these findings, educational material in the form of a poster has been created, which could be distributed to schools, pediatric departments, and other institutions. This material could serve not only to inform about the risks associated with experimenting with intoxicating substances and the health consequences of intoxication, but also to guide parents on how to react in case of their child’s intoxication, the risks intoxication brings, and the steps that should be taken in such situations. The research contributes to a better understanding of this issue and the development of preventive measures in the area of adolescent intoxication.
