The Slovak Army and the Battle of Lipovec and reflection in the Slovak press

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se jmenuje Slovenská armáda a bitva u Lipovce a její odraz ve slovenském tisku. Práce se snaží reflektovat názory na bitvu, působení zpráv o bitvě v tisku na společnost, využívání bitvy o Lipovec k propagandistickým a nacionalistickým účelům, či prezentování bitvy jako celku v dobovém tisku I. Slovenské republiky. K analýze zmínek, popisu či názorů o bitvě byla využita soudobá periodika Slovák, Gardista a Nový svet (název periodik byl ponechán v originálním znění). Pro analýzu byl zvolen časoví úsek od bitvy o Lipovec, tedy od července 1941, až po samotný zánik slovenského tisku v dubnu 1945. Cílem této diplomové práce bude zodpovědět na výzkumné otázky a poukázat na bitvu o Lipovec očima dobového slovenského tisku.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is called: The Slovak Army and the Battle of Lipovec and its reflection in the Slovak press. The diploma thesis tries to reflect the views on the battle, the effect of reports of the battle in the press on society, the use of the Battle of Lipovec for propagandistic and nationalist purposes, or the presentation of the battle as a whole in the period press of the I. Slovak Republic. The contemporary periodicals Slovák, Gardista and Nový svet were used to analyze mentions, descriptions or opinions about the battle (the name of the periodicals was retained in the original version). The time period chosen for the analysis is from the Battle of Lipovec since July 1941 to the very demise of the Slovak press in April 1945. The aim of this diploma contains answers to the research questions and point out the battle of Lipovec from the point of view of the contemporary Slovak press.
