The Language of Youth in Bravo Magazine in 1961 and 2019: Comparison and Analysis of Texts

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the language of youth in the magazine Bravo from 1961 and 2019. The theoretical part is dedicated to communication, especially to youth communication. Neologism, slang, Anglicism and abbreviations are further defined and characterized in the context of the youth language. The practical part focuses on the differences in the language of youth in 1961 and 2019. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine the current vocabulary of youth using Bravo magazine and to compare the characteristics of the language specific for the youth with the lexicon of the youth language 58 years ago.

Diese Bachelorarbeit befasst sich mit der Jugendsprache in den Zeitschrift Bravo aus den Jahren 1961 und 2019. Der theoretische Teil widmet sich der Kommunikation und vornehmlich der Kommunikation der Jugendlichen. Danach werden die Begriffe Neologismus, Slang, Anglizismus und Abkürzungen definiert und im Rahmen der Jugendsprache charakterisiert. Der praktische Teil konzentriert sich auf die Unterschiede der Jugendsprache in den Jahren 1961 und 2019. Das Ziel der Bachelorarbeit besteht darin, den aktuellen Wortschatz der Jugend anhand der Zeitschrift Bravo näher zu untersuchen und die Merkmale der für die Jugend spezifischen Sprache mit der Lexik der Jugendsprache vor 58 Jahren zu vergleichen.
