Stigmatization and (re)socialization of the blinds.

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem práce je problematika "postižených", a to na příkladu lidí se zrakovou vadou. Práce se snaží na danou tematiku nahlížet z antropologické perspektivy, za pomoci antropologických teorií a teorií z oboru disability studies, jež z velké části čerpá ze sociální a kulturní antropologie. Snahou je předložit možné nestigmatizující alternativy, jak zacházet s pojmem "postižení" a dále relativizovat pojetí, že na lidi s postižením se hledí jako na "jiné", "abnormální", nemocné atd. Jako metody sběru dat byly zvoleny za prvé polostrukturované rozhovory, které byly vedeny s nevidomými lidmi, kteří přišli o zrak v průběhu svého života. Jako druhá metoda bylo (zúčastněné) pozorování jejich každodenního života, kdy byly zjišťovány podoby možné stigmatizace ze strany majoritní společnosti.

Abstract:

The main topic of this work is the problems of the "disabled", specifically people with sight handicap. This work tries to use anthropological point of view, supported by anthropological theories and theories from the field of disability studies, which are influenced by social and cultural anthropology. This position is to foreshadow non-stigmatizing alternatives, how to use the term "disability" and then I try to relativize the notion of looking at disabled people as "different", "abnormal", sick and so forth. As methods semistructured interviews with blind people who lost their sight during their life were elected, and also participant observation of their everyday life, specifically forms of possible stigmatization from major society.
