A comparison of the level of humanism and creativity and their mutual relationship in the primary school teachers specialised in digital technologies and the teachers from ordinary primary school

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with investigating of the degree of humanism and creativity of primary school teachers. There are two research groups we will be dealing with, the teachers from ordinary schools (N = 21) and teachers from a school focused on ICT (N = 20). Our goal was to discover, whether there is a prevailing trend in the thinking of teachers. We assumed, that they will prefer to think in humanistic conception of teaching rather than in traditional one and that they will try to enhance pedagogical creativity rather than obstruct it. We also wanted to discover, whether there is a relationship between the pedagogical creativity and the general creativity. The methods we used are two questionnaires „A humanistic conception of teaching“ and „Creativity in a work of a teacher“ took and adapted from the work of I. Turek (2010) and Urban's figural test of creativity (TSD-Z). There was no statistically significant difference between our research groups in all the measured aspects on the level of signifiance p ≤ 0,05. We confirmed the hypothesis, that the teachers prefer humanistic conception of teaching and enhance pedagogical creativity. There was no significant relationship found between the pedagogical and general creativity in our research group (rs = -0,02; p = 0,91). The relationship between the pedagogical creativity and humanistic approach was found (rs = 0,69; p = 0.00).

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberala zisťovaním miery humanizmu a kreativity u učiteľov základných škôl s klasickým zameraním a zameraním na digitálne technológie. Výskumná vzorka pozostávala z učiteľov dvoch klasických základných škôl (N = 21) a jednej základnej školy so zameraním na digitálne technológie (N = 20). Naším cieľom bolo zistiť, či v myslení pedagógov prevažuje humanistická koncepcia uvažovania nad tradičnou a či prevažuje prístup podporujúci pedagogickú tvorivosť nad prístupom tvorivosť brzdiacim. Ďalej sme zisťovali, či u našich respondentov bude existovať vzťah medzi mierou pedagogickej kreativity a kreativitou v obecnom slova zmysle. Medzi metódy, ktoré sme pri výskume použili, patria dotazníky „Humanistická koncepcia vyučovania“ a „Tvorivosť v práci učiteľa“, ktoré sme prevzali a adaptovali z publikácie I. Turka (2010) a Urbanov figurálny test kreativity (TSD-Z). Medzi výskumnými skupinami sme nezistili štatisticky významný rozdiel v žiadnej zo skúmaných oblastí (p ≤ 0,05). Potvrdilo sa nám, že učitelia vo všeobecnosti viac vyznávajú humanistickú koncepciu vyučovania nad tradičnou a pedagogickú tvorivosť podporujúci prístup nad tvorivosťou brzdiacim. Štatisticky významný vzťah medzi pedagogickou kreativitou a obecnou kreativitou nebol preukázaný (rs = -0,02; p = 0,91). Vzťah medzi pedagogickou kreativitou a mierou humanizmu sa na základe výsledkov ukázal ako pomerne silný (rs = 0,69; p = 0.00)..
