The role of fibroblast growth factor signalling in regeneration and tissue repair

Abstract:

Fibroblastové růstové faktory zastávají nepostradatelnou roli již během embryogeneze. Po narození se stávají významnými složkami účastnícími se homeostázy organismu, hojení ran a regenerace tkání. Mezi důležité opravné mechanismy tkání po poškození patří především buněčná migrace, proliferace, diferenciace a tvorba a remodelace extracelulární matrix. Tato bakalářská práce poskytuje přehled vlivu fibroblastových růstových faktorů na tyto opravné mechanismy u různých typů buněk, a případné uplatnění těchto faktorů v terapeutické praxi při hojení ran a regeneraci tkání.

Abstract:

Fibroblast growth factors already play an important role during embryogenesis. After birth, they become important components involved in homeostasis, wound healing and tissue regeneration. Important repair mechanisms of tissue after injury include cell migration, proliferation, differentiation and formation and remodeling of the extracellular matrix. This thesis provides an overview about the influence of fibroblast growth factors on these repair mechanisms in various cell types, and possible application of these factors in therapeutic practise in wound healing and tissue regeneration.
