Education of patient about a prevention of diabetic foot syndrome

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je zpracovat edukační proces jako součást prevence syndromu diabetické nohy. V teoretické části bude definováno onemocnění, jeho léčba, prevence, možné komplikace a edukace. Cílem praktické části je vytvořit a realizovat edukační proces u konkrétního pacienta s diabetem mellitus, který patří do rizikové skupiny syndromu diabetické nohy. Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické se nachází, na podkladě studia odborné literatury, shromážděné informace o edukaci a edukačním procesu v ošetřovatelství a u pacienta s diabetem, o syndromu diabetické nohy a jeho prevenci. V části praktické je popsán edukační proces a jeho realizace u konkrétní pacientky. Edukační proces byl realizován se souhlasem vedení v diabetologické ordinaci. Vybraná pacientka splňovala předem určená kritéria, byla poučena a písemně potvrdila svůj souhlas. Edukační proces proběhl dle stanoveného plánu. V rámci praktické části byly vytvořeny tři pracovní listy, které si pacientka ponechala po realizaci edukačních jednotek mohla ponechat a slouží jí jako edukační materiál. Cíl bakalářské práce i dílčí cíle byly splněny a diagnózy byly ukončeny. Pacientka získala dostatečné množství vědomostí, díky kterému se zbavila deficitu vědomostí. Pacientka sama hodnotí edukaci jako přínosnou pro její životosprávu. Edukační činnost sester je v ošetřovatelské péči důležitou složkou, která by neměla být opomíjena a ani podceňována. U prevence syndromu diabetické nohy je edukace pacienta jednou z nejefektivnějších součástí prevence vzniku jakéhokoli defektu, který by mohl mít za následek vznik syndromu diabetické nohy.

Abstract:

The goal of the thesis is to create educational process as a part of a secondary prevention of diabetic foot syndrome. The theoretical part will be focused on the definition of diabetic foot syndrome, therapy, prevention, possible complications and education. The purpose of practical part is to create an educational process for one concrete patient with diabetes mellitus who is a part of a group with risk of creating diabetic foot syndrome The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is, based on study of literature, describing the information about education, educational process in nursing and education of patient with diabetes mellitus, about diabetic foot syndrome and it's prevention. The practical part is describing education process and it's realization with one concrete patient. Education process was executed after the permission given by management from diabetic office. Selected patient met predetermined criteria and signed the consent to cooperate. The whole educational process went according to plan. Practical part included creating three worksheets, the patient kept after the education was finished, to help her learn and remember the information she gathered throughout the process. The main goal of the thesis and the individual goals were met and diagnoses were terminated. The patient received enough of a new information that helped her terminate the diagnose deficit of knowledge. Patient herself judges the education as contribution for her lifestyle. Educational activity in nursing is an important part in nursing care that should not be forgotten nor underestimated. Prevention of diabetic foot syndrome is based mainly on education of patient, it is one of the most effective parts of the prevention for creating any defect that could be responsible of developing into diabetic foot syndrome.
