Hlína granitic suite: 430 Ma felsic layered garnet-bearing magma portion of bimodal, Back-arc related magmatism, SW Brunovistulicum - A multidisciplinary study

Abstract:

Práce přináší komplexní studium A-typových, vnitrodeskových granitických žil suity Hlína, rozpoznaných v brněnském a dyjském masivu na JZ Brunovistulika. Na základě Sm-Nd izotopie byly granity datovány a jejich relativně mladý věk (Silur, 430 Mil.) je v práci interpretován (záoblouková extenze Rhenohercynské pánve). Studované granity vynikají svou nápadnou páskovanou stavbou, kdy se opakovaně střídají pásky hrubozrnných hřebenovitých krystalů (UST) s pásky jamnozrnnými obsahujícími polohy Ytriem a HREE bohatý granát. Práce diskutuje vznik těchto struktur. Magmatický granát i ostatní minerály byly intenzivně studovány s ohledem na distribuci Ytria a prvky vzácných zemin (+ substituce Y+REE v granátu). Studium Y+REE v jednotlivých minerálech poukazuje na jejich důležitost k pochopení vývoje magmatu. Práce se též zabývá termometrií za použití saturačních mezí pro zirkon.

Abstract:

Thesis brings a multidisciplinary study of A-type, within plate granitic dikes of the Hlína suite, located in Cadomian Brno and Thaya batholiths, Thaya terrane, SW Brunovistulicum. Hlína suite dated by Sm-Nd isotopic ratios revealed relatively young age (Silurian, 430 Ma) which is discussed along with possible geotectonic interpretation in the thesis. Hlína granites differ by laminated and layered inner structure marked by alternation of UST units and fine-grained units pronounced by repeating of garnet trains, parallel with contacts. Complex inner fabric is discussed in the work. The Y+REE contributions of individual minerals to Y+REE budgets (employing mass balance calculations) in the rock and compatibility of Y and REE in garnet is intensively studied in the thesis making garnet an essential Y+REE reservoir of the rock. Substitution mechanism for Y+REE into garnet is also discussed. Crystallization temperatures for the dikes were also calculated by zircon saturation thermometry in undercooled conditions.
