Baroque Theatricality

Abstract:

Ve své práci se zabývám divadelností barokního slohu. Považuji ji za zásadní vlastnost tohoto období, jeho umění a svým způsobem i myšlení. V práci se tento názor pokusím doložit. Na příkladu tří církevních staveb na území Čech a Moravy dokazuji svá tvrzení a vysvětluji, v čem tato divadelnost spočívá. K rozboru záměrně volím tři velmi odlišné stavby – kostel sv. Michaela v Brně, Svatou Horu v Příbrami a poutní chrám Panny Marie Dobré rady u Nových Hradů. Čím více se od sebe jednotlivé stavby liší, tím širší možnosti při dokazování tvrzení mi skýtají.

Abstract:

In my thesis I deal with the theatricality of the Baroque style. I consider theatricality a crucial feature of this period, of its art and, in a way, also of its thinking and approach to the world. In my work, I will try to prove this oppinion. On the example of three ecclesiastical buildings on the territory of Bohemia and Moravia, I want to prove my claims and explain my statement. I deliberately chose three very different structures - St. Michael church in Brno, Svatá Hora in Příbram and the pilgrimage church Panny Marie Dobré rady at Nové Hrady. The more diverse the places are, the wider possibilities I have for proving my claims.
