Hotel industry in the context of industry 4.0

Abstract:

Příchodem čtvrté průmyslové revoluce se změnil pohled na využívání technologií a vzájemnou interakci člověka a stroje. Prvky průmyslu 4.0 zasahují kromě výroby, i do oblasti služeb. Jejich zavádění ovlivňuje konkurenceschopnost podniků, také se stávají atraktivnějšími pro potenciální zákazníky. Cílem této diplomové práce je důkladně prozkoumat současné působení Průmyslu 4.0 v oblasti hotelnictví a zjistit jaké změny technologické podstaty právě probíhají. Práce je rozdělena do tří částí: teoretické, analytické a návrhové. Teoretická část se skládá ze dvou kapitol. První je zaměřena na obor hotelnictví, jeho historii a vnější prostředí. Druhá kapitola se věnuje vývoji průmyslu 4.0 a podpůrným technologiím, bez kterých by tato revoluce nebyla možná. Analytická část práce navazuje na teoretickou a skládá se ze dvou kapitol. První se věnuje popisu trendů v hotelovém segmentu a jejich aplikaci v praxi. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na výzkum pomocí dotazníkového šetření s cílem zjistit pohled spotřebitelů a manažerů hotelů ve vztahu k technologiím, robotizaci a automatizaci v oboru hotelnictví. Návrhová část práce je soustředěna na vyhodnocení poznatků z celé práce a doporučení pro budoucí vývoj. Do budoucna lze předpokládat, že se zlepší kvalita poskytovaných služeb, zaměstnanci se budou muset méně zabývat rutinní práci a budou se moci věnovat zákazníkům na profesionálnější úrovni.

Abstract:

With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the view of technology use and human-machine interaction has changed. Apart from production, the elements of industry 4.0 also affect services. Their implementation affects the competitiveness of businesses and increases attractiveness to potential customers. The aim of this diploma thesis is to thoroughly examine the current operation of Industry 4.0 in the hotel sector and to find out what changes in the technological nature are in progress. The thesis is divided into three parts: theoretical, analytical and design. The theoretical part consists of two chapters. The first is focused on the hotel industry, its history and external environment. The second chapter deals with the evolution of Industry 4.0 and the supporting technologies without which this revolution would not be possible. The analytical part of the thesis is linked to the theoretical part and consists of two chapters. The first one describes the trends in the hotel segment and its application in practice. The second chapter focuses on research through a questionnaire survey in order to find out the view of consumers and professionals in relation to technology, robotics and automation in the hotel industry. The design part of the thesis is focused on evaluation of findings from the whole work and recommendations for future development. In the future, it can be assumed that the quality of services provided will improve, and employees will have less routine work, and will be able to focus more on professional services.
