Changes over time in Dvořák's Museum of Prehistory in Kolín

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce z počátku čtenáře seznámí s okolnostmi vzniku kolínského muzea a jeho vývojem až po současnost. V následující části podává informace o jednotlivých pravěkých obdobích a nálezech z kolínského okresu. Dále se práce věnuje popisu archeologické sbírky kolínského muzea, její evidenci, uložení a s ní spojenou akviziční činností. Výstavní činnost Dvořákova muzea pravěku je popisována od jeho otevření v roce 1948 až po současnost. Důležitý mezník představuje rok 1966, kdy byla expozice zásadně přepracována. Na základě veškerých získaných informací se poslední část práce věnuje návrhu nové stálé expozice kolínského pravěku, kterou v současné době Dvořákovo muzeum pravěku nemá. Zde se zaměřuje především na typické oblasti muzejní prezentace, kterými jsou osvětlení, text a barva v expozici, didaktické prvky a instalace exponátů. Zapojením interaktivních a digitálních prvků v expozici se práce snaží o přiblížení k novějším muzeologickým trendům.

Abstract:

From the beginning, the presented bachelor's thesis acquaints the reader with the circumstances of the establishment of the Museum of Kolín and its development up to the present. The following section provides information on individual prehistoric periods and finds from the Kolín’s district. Furthermore, the thesis addresses the description of the archaeological collection of the Museum of Kolín, its records, storage and related acquisition activities. The exhibition activities of the Dvořák Museum of Prehistory are described from its opening in 1948 to the present day. An important milestone is the year 1966, when the exhibition was fundamentally redesigned. Based on all the information obtained, the last part of the work is devoted to the proposal of a new permanent exhibition of Kolín’s prehistory, which currently the Dvořák Museum of Prehistory does not have. The thesis here focuses mainly on typical areas of museum presentation, which are lighting, text and colour in the exhibition, didactic elements and installation of exhibits. By involving interactive and digital elements in the exhibition, the thesis seeks to approach newer museological trends.
