Social work in postindustrial society

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na sociální práci v postindustriální společnosti. Cílem práce je zmapovat současnou sociální práci s ohledem na změny ve společnosti, zejména v českých poměrech. V teoretické části popisuji historický vývoj sociální práce, ze které soudobá sociální práce čerpá dodnes, také zmiňuji krátký vývoj sociální práce v období první republiky a utlumený vývoj profese před rokem 1989. Vzhledem k tomu, že práce je zaměřena na soudobou, tedy postindustriální společnost, specifikuji tento pojem a znaky postindustriální společnosti. Dále se již zabývám soudobou sociální prací, tedy, jak je sociální práce definována, jejími teoretickými koncepty, hodnotami sociální práce, zákonnou úpravou a pojetím sociální práce dle odborníků zabývajícími se sociální prací v soudobé společnosti. Ve výzkumné části se zabývám tím, jak sociální pracovníci reagují na změny ve společnosti. Zda se zabývají cílem sociální práce, přizpůsobením požadavků prostředí potřebám jedince. Dále, jestli reflektují ve své praxi hodnoty, které v soudobé společnosti převažují.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on social work in post-industrial society. The aim of the thesis is to map out the current social work with respect to changes in society, especially in the Czech circumstances. The theoretical part describes the historical development of social work from which contemporary social work draws to the present day; I also mention a brief development of social work in the First Republic and subdued development of this profession before the year 1989. Whereas the work is focused on contemporary, a postindustrial society, this concept and features of postindustrial society will be specified. Thereinafter, the modern development of social work will be concerned, thus, the definition of social - work, its theoretical concepts, values of social work, regularization and concept of social work according to experts engaged in social work in contemporary society will be discussed. The research part of the thesis deals with the issue how social workers respond to changes in society, especially, whether they reflect the aim of social work or the adaptation of the demands of the enviroment to the needs of the individual. Furthermore, if the social workers reflect in his practice values that prevail in postindustrial society.
