The remains of vernacular architecture in the village Strachotín

Abstract:

Původní lidové stavby jsou důležitým hmotným dokladem tradičního způsobu života a kultury, neboť každý rok pár těchto staveb neodvratně zmizí a je otázka několika mála let, kdy zaniknou zcela, je jejich dokumentace nezbytná. Cílem této práce je přiblížit co nejplastičtější obraz stavební historie vybraných usedlostí, zachycený vlivem vývoje vlastnického procesu, sociokulturního prostoru a dějinného kontextu vesnického domu. Zkoumanou lokalitou byla obec Strachotín (okr. Břeclav), která se řadí mezi tzv. novoosídlenecké oblasti, ve kterých byla po druhé světové válce, díky odsunu tamního německy mluvícího obyvatelstva, zpřetrhána jakákoliv místní tradice, a kde po nuceném exodu zůstaly zachovány jen výsledky jejich stavební činnosti. Obec Strachotín leží na hranici Mikulovska a Hustopečska, tato jižní hranice hanáckého Slovácka se z dnešního pohledu jeví jako mnohem ostřejší ve fungování tradiční lidové kultury, především ze dvou důvodů. Jednak díky přerušení kulturní kontinuity předchozího německého obyvatelstva a také kvůli minoritnímu postavení česky mluvícího obyvatelstva, které tak nemělo nezbytné předpoklady pro rozvíjení vlastní kultury v širším územním kontextu. Důležitým pilířem, v souvislosti s orientací práce, jsou tedy i otázky věnující se nově příchozím obyvatelům. Tato práce je zaměřena na základě vzpomínek informátorů na průběh osídlování. Nejzajímavější jsou momenty, kdy na počátku národnostní změny jihomoravského pohraničí dochází ke konfrontaci bývalých majitelů usedlostí s těmi novými. Dále byla sledována motivace příchodu novoosídlenců do této oblasti. Výše uvedené skutečnosti hrají nemalou roli při etnografickém výzkumu v dané lokalitě, na niž a na stavebně-historický rozbor těchto objektů je diplomová práce zaměřena. Práce je založena také na studiu archivních materiálů, které do značné míry suplují výpověď starší vrstvy osídlení. Zkoumanou problematiku dokumentují fotografie a kresebné dokumentace objektů, které dokreslují jak stavební vývoj zkoumané lokality, tak i život v ní.

Abstract:

Original vernacular buildings are an important material document of traditional way of life and culture and since more and more of these buildings become dilapidated, it is necessary to document them. The aim of this thesis is to provide a highly pictorial description of construction history of selected homesteads, which was able to be documented due to development of proprietary process, socio-cultural environment, and historical context of rural housing. The researched locality is the village of Strachotín (Břeclav district), which is one of the so-called re-settled regions. After the Second World War the local German inhabitants were expuled, and therefore, the local tradition was broken and the only remains left after the German inhabitants were the outcomes of their construction activities. The village of Strachotín is situated at the border of two regions, Mikulovsko and Hustopečsko, and this southern border of Hanakia-Slovakia seems to be a sharp divide of traditional folk culture mainly because of two reasons. First, it is because of the interrupted cultural continuity of the local German population and second, due to minority position of the Czech inhabitants, who did not have the necessary means to develop their own culture in the broader regional context. An important foothold, due to the aim of this thesis, are questions dealing with the new inhabitants. The thesis is based on informants‘remembrances of the course of the re-settling. Descriptions of conflicts between the previous house owners with the new ones, which aroused at the beginning of the re-settling period of the south Moravian border, are of particular interest. Another interesting issue is the motivation of the re-settlers for moving to the region. The aforementioned facts are vital for the ethnographic research in the area, which is, together with the constructional and historical analysis of the chosen houses, the core of this thesis. It is also based on archival materials that are to a certain extent a substitute for testimonies of the older inhabitants. The analysis is supplemented with photography and architectural drawings of the buildings, which illustrate not only the construction development of the region, but also its daily life.
