The consequences of unethical treatment of information

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o různých pohledech na informace, etiku a informační etiku. Práce vysvětluje, zda existuje jednotné stanovisko na informaci, etiku nebo informační etiku. V práci se dále poukazuje na důsledky neetického zacházení s informacemi. Zkoumají se právě nejčastější a nejzávažnější důsledky porušování informační etiky a také motivace a důvody, které by lidé měli, aby porušovali etické principy v prostředí cyberspace. První část práce se zaměřuje na různé pohledy informace a volbu, která definice informace nejlépe vystihuje význam v informační etice. Druhá část práce je zaměřena na teorii etiky, její historický vývoj a různá hlediska a pohledy na etiku. Třetí část práce propojuje teorii informace z první části práce spolu s teorií etiky z druhé části práce v informační etiku a různé kodexy, které v rámci informační etiky vznikly. Dále zkoumá potenciální důvody a důsledky nedodržování informační etiky. Závěrečná část práce je zaměřena na průzkum ohledně důvodů a důsledků porušování informační etiky. Tento průzkum zjišťuje nejčastější důvody, které lidé mají, aby porušovali informační etiku. Průzkum také zkoumá, které prohřešky vůči informační etice lidé považují za nejzávažnější, a se kterými se nejčastěji setkali. Tento průzkum potvrzuje nebo vyvrací hypotézy ze třetí části této práce.

Abstract:

This thesis discusses different views on information, ethics and information ethics. This work explains if there is a single opinion on the information, ethics or information ethics. The thesis also highlights the consequences of unethical treatment of information. It examines just the most common and most serious consequences of breaching information ethics and motivation and the reasons might have to break the ethical principles in the environment of cyberspace. The first part focuses on different views of information and selects which definition describes the best the importance of information in information ethics. The second part focuses on the theory of ethics, its historical development and various aspects and perspectives on ethics. The third part connects information theory from the first part of work together with the theory of ethics from the second part of work in the information ethics and the various codes of ethics, which were made because of information ethics. It also explores the potential causes and consequences of failure to comply with information ethics. The final part focuses on research into the reasons and consequences of breaching information ethics. This survey identifies the most common reasons that people have to break the information ethics. The survey also examines what information ethics violations against people are considered most important, and which are frequently encountered. This survey confirms or refutes the hypothesis from the third part of this work.
