Reflection of Czech fairy tale films of the 1950’s in the period press

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem českých filmových pohádek 50. let 20. století. Jedná se o pohádky, které jsou do dnes obecně známé a často dokonce divácky oblíbené. V době, kdy vznikaly, na ně však reakce nebyly vždy pozitivní. Hlavním úkolem práce je tedy zaprvé zmapovat názory a hodnocení tehdejších kritiků na tyto filmy. Následně shrnout získané poznatky (pozitivní i negativní argumenty) a uvést veškeré požadavky, které ve vytyčené době byly na filmy pro děti kladeny.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on a topic of Czech fairy tale films of the 1950’s. These fairy tales are very well-known and commonly quite popular to this day. But at the time these films were made, the responses were not always positive. The main aim of this thesis is to firstly study period critiques and reviews of the selected fairy tales. Secondly, summarize all the gained knowledge (both positive and negative arguments) and create a list of the main requirements for making films for children in the 1950’s.
