Steinbeck as a Local Color Writer
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o americkém spisovateli Johnu Steinbeckovi jako představiteli regionální literatury. Je zde popsán vliv geografického rozmístění a politického dění na autorovu literární kariéru. Tři vybraná díla jsou detailně analyzována, aby zaznamenala aspekty regionální literatury. Následně je shrnut celkový přínos autora světové literatuře.
Abstract:
The thesis deals with the American author John Steinbeck as a representative of Local Color writing. It describes how the geographical and political background influenced his writing career. There are three works analysed in detail to demonstrate the aspects of Local Color writing. Then the author´s contribution to the world literature is summed up.
