Ornithocenoses of agricultural terraces in southern Moravia

Abstract:

Tato disertační práce se zabývá ptáky zemědělské krajiny. V rámci práce byly studovány druhy, které se vyskytují na terasovaných pozemcích, které jsou zemědělsky obhospodařované. Bylo zjišťováno, jaké druhy se zde vyskytují a zda jsou tyto plochy pro ptáky v zemědělské krajině vhodným biotopem. Na těchto pozemcích se vyskytuje také vzácný druh – vlha pestrá Merops apiaster, a proto byla práce rozšířena i na jiné biotopy, které tento druh využívá ke svému hnízdění. Práce zahrnuje druhy zemědělské krajiny vyskytující se na území České republiky a Rakouska a byl srovnáván výskyt jednotlivých druhů a jejich početnost, vzhledem k rozdílné heterogenitě krajiny. Velké plochy polí na české straně a malá jednotlivá pole na straně rakouské. Bylo zjištěno, že terasované pozemky poskytují ptákům dobré možnosti k zahnízdění, ať jsou to právě člověkem vytvořené svahy, či stromy a keře, které se vždy u těchto ploch nacházejí. Pro vlhu pestrou se tato místa ukázala být také vhodným stanovištěm, stejně jako jiné biotopy vytvořené člověkem. Dále bylo prokázáno, že heterogenita krajiny má vliv na druhové složení i početnost ptactva, kdy na rakouské straně bylo pozorováno více druhů a hlavně u skřivana polního Alauda arvensis byly počty na rakouské straně výrazně vyšší než na straně české.

Abstract:

This dissertation thesis deals with birds of agricultural landscape. In this work we studied species that occur on terraced land, which are farmed. It was investigated what species occur here and whether these areas are suitable habitat for birds in the agricultural landscape. A rare species has been discovered on these plots – the European Bee-eater Merops apiaster, and therefore the work has been extended to other habitats that this species uses for breeding. The work was further expanded to include farmland birds in the Czech Republic and Austria and we compared the occurrence of individual species and their abundance, due to different landscape heterogeneity. Large areas on the Czech side and small individual fields on the Austrian side. It has been found that terraced plots provide good nesting opportunities for birds, whether they are man-made slopes or trees and shrubs that are always located by these areas. These sites are also a good habitat for the European Bee-eater, as are other man-made sites. Furthermore, it was shown that the heterogeneity of the landscape affects the species composition and abundance of birds, when more species were observed on the Austrian side. The numbers of Alauda arvensis were significantly higher on the Austrian than on the Czech side.
