The Ethics of Sport

Abstract:

Uvedená diplomová práce se zabývá etikou sportu, převážně často diskutovaným tématem výkon podporujících látek ve sportu. Text se věnuje historickému uvedení do problematiky, dále dokumenty stanovujícími etické normy ve sportu, hlavními otázkami etiky sportu, profesionalizací a morálním uvažováním sportovců. Hlavní část poskytuje analýzu argumentů pro zákaz dopingu (zdraví sportovce, zdraví ostatních sportovců, zdraví mládeže a společnosti, spravedlnost a účel sportu), nabízí protiargumenty a vyvozuje, zda lze na základě uvedených argumentů zakázat doping ve sportu nebo nikoliv. Z analyzované problematiky vyplývá, že doping lze zakázat, jelikož dopování zamezuje naplnění účelu sportu. Poslední část práce se zaměřuje na etickou výchovu ve školách a poskytuje vzorové hodiny etiky sportu pro sportovní gymnázia.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the ethics of sport, mainly the most frequently discussed topic performance enhancing drugs in sport. The text focuses on the historical introduction to the theme, as well as document outlining ethical standards in sport, the main topics of ethics of sport, professionalization and moral reasoning of athletes. The main section provides an analysis of the arguments for banning doping (athletes' health, the health of other athletes, youth health, justice and purpose of sport) and offers counter-arguments. The thesis discusses, if it is possible banning doping in sport based on these arguments. From the analyzed issue results that doping should be prohibited because it is contrary to the purpose of sport. The last part focuses on ethical education and provides model lessons in ethics of sport for sport high schools.
