Contastive phraseology German-Czech: Possibilities of translation of phraseology in belletristic texts demonstrated on the novel "Du stirbst nicht" written by Kathrin Schmidt

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with translation of phraseology demonstrated on a German novel „Du stirbst nicht“ written by Kathrin Schmidt. In the theoretical part of the thesis are described basic terms, concepts of classification by Fleischer and Burger, contrastive phraseology issues and equivalence in phraseology. The practical part consists of a corpus of phraseology from the book and my own translation into Czech considering possible incorrect interpretations. Particular types of phraseologism are categorised and I assess their equivalence grade.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá překladáním frazeologismů na příkladu německého románu od Kathrin Schmidt „Du stirbst nicht“. V teoretické části jsou definovány základní pojmy, popsána klasifikace frazeologismů podle Fleischera a Burgera, problematika kontrastivní frazeologie a ekvivalence. Praktickou část tvoří korpus frazeologismů, vyhledaných v německém originálu a následný pokus o jejich překlad do češtiny s přihlédnutím k možným chybným interpretacím. V korpusu jsou dále jednotlivé frazeologismy zařazeny v rámci jejich klasifikace a zároveň je určen stupeň ekvivalence, dosažený při jejich překladu.
