Impacts of the global economic crises on the management of a specific company

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje tématu hospodářské krize a její vlivu na řízení malých a středních podniků. Konkrétně je pozornost zaměřena na poslední velkou ekonomickou krizi, která zasáhla svět v letech 2007 – 2008, a její dopad na malý výrobní podnik. V práci jsou analyzovány obecné příčiny vzniku hospodářských krizí a také jejich důsledky na hospodářství, respektive podnikající subjekty v něm. Projevy a důsledky krize jsou zaměřeny na malé a střední podniky s ohledem na jejich specifické rysy a místo ve struktuře hospodářství. Aplikační část se věnuje působení vybraného malého výrobního podniku během zmíněného krizového období. V aplikační části jsou také zkoumány jednotlivé kroky a rozhodnutí managementu podniku v daném období, dále jsou sledovány a analyzovány významné ekonomické ukazatele hospodaření podniku. Cílem diplomové práce je doporučit managementu podniku vhodná opatření směřující ke zmírnění dopadů ekonomické krize a k minimalizaci dopadů podobných krizí na chod podniku do budoucna.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of economic crisis and its impact on the management of small and medium-sized businesses. Specifically, attention is focused on the last great economic crisis that hit the world in the years 2007 - 2008, and its impact on small manufacturing company. The paper describes the general causes of economic crises and their impact on the economy and business entities going through it. Impacts of the crisis are focused on small and medium businesses with regard to their specific characteristics and position within the structure of the economy. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to the action of one selected small manufacturing company during that crisis period. Individual actions, steps and decisions of the company´s management are examined during a given period, and also major economic indicators of the company are tracked and analyzed. Objective of this thesis is to recommend that the company´s management take appropriate measures to alleviate the impacts of the economic crisis and to minimize the impacts of similar crises in similar ventures in the future.
