Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce zkoumá důležitost piva pro britskou společnost od neolitu do počátku 21. století, a to z kulturního, sociálního a ekonomického hlediska. Také se zabývá tzv. puby, které jsou s pivem neodmyslitelně spjaty. V práci je stručně zmapován jejich historický vývoj a role, kterou puby hrály v britské společnosti od míst pouhé konzumace piva až po střediska sociálního života komunit.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis examines the importance of beer for British society from the Neolithic period until the beginning of the 21st century, studying cultural, social and economic aspects. It also deals with pubs which are inherently related to beer. The thesis briefly maps their historical evolution and roles pubs played in British society, from places of mere beer consumption to the centres of the social lives of the communities
