Changes in Clients' Self Concept within the Adventure Therapy in Therapeutic Communities for Drug Addicts

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou terapie dobrodružstvím, která je součástí léčebného procesu terapeutických komunit. Konkrétně se zaměřuje na vztah klienta terapeutické komunity pro drogově závislé ke své vlastní osobě v souvislosti s terapií dobrodružstvím. Cílem teoretické části je objasnit klíčové pojmy terapeutická komunita, terapie dobrodružstvím, sebepojetí a self-efficacy. Cílem empirické části je na základě kvantitativního výzkumu zjistit, zda dochází ke změnám sebepojetí klientů šesti terapeutických komunit pro drogově závislé v České republice v rámci terapie dobrodružstvím. Výzkumné šetření je realizováno dotazníkovou metodou ve 3 etapách: před, po a 14 dní po absolvování terapie dobrodružstvím a získaná data statisticky testována. Všechna zjištění a výsledky jsou prezentovány v závěrečné části této práce.

Abstract:

My Theses focuses on issue of the Adventure Therapy, which is a part of treatment process in the Therapeutic Communities. In particular it is focused on therapeutic community client's perception of self in terms of the Adventure Therapy. The objective of my theoretical part is to explain key terms Therapeutic Community, Adventure Therapy, self - concept and self - efficacy. The objective of my empirical part is to find out, whether or not, in six Therapeutic Communities in the Czech Republic, the Adventure Therapy affects the changes in the client's self - concepts. To do the research a questionnaire survey was used. The questionnaire survey was conducted in three phases: phase 1 - before the Adventure Therapy started, phase 2 - after the Adventure Therapy was completed, phase 3 - 2 weeks after the last survey was done. The collected data were statistically tested. All findings and results are presented in the concluding part of this thesis.
