The Crises of Love and Existence in Selected Works of Austrian Literature in 19th and 20th Century

Abstract:

My work aims at revealing the reasons for breaking up in relationships and to follow the identity crisis in the selected works of Austrian literature. The above mentioned reasons are categorized according to my own opinion as well as according to social changes that had taken place. Not only reasons are highlighted. I also concentrate on the solutions individual protagonists had chosen. More specifically, the analysis of given phenomena is concentrated on the selected Austrian writers of 19th and 20th century, namely Arthur Schnitzler, Robert Musil, Elfriede Jelinek and Eva Menasse.

Abstract:

Cieľom mojej diplomovej práce je odhaliť príčiny rozpadu ľúbostných vzťahov a následnej krízy identity vo vybraných dielach rakúskej literatúry. Príčiny sú podľa môjho subjektívneho názoru a vzhľadom na zmeny spoločnosti kategorizované. Okrem príčin porovnávam aj riešenia problémov, ktoré hrdinovia diel zvolili. Pre analýzu daných javov som si vybrala rakúskych autorov 19.ho a 20.ho storočia, Arthura Schnitzlera, Roberta Musila, Elfriede Jelinek, a Evu Menasse.
