Sudeten Germen in the Area of Orlickoústecko during the First Republic

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou sudetských Němců a jejich historií v regionu Orlickoústecka v meziválečném období. Historie sudetského osídlení v této části Čech byla kontinuální od velké kolonizace ve 13. století. Od této doby můžeme hovořit o sudetských Němcích jako o etniku, které se stalo sice plnoprávným obyvatelstvem českých zemí, avšak nikdy nevytvořilo národnostně homogenní útvar v rámci českého státu. Práce sleduje z hlediska vzájemných vztahů Čechů a Němců nejplodnější a zároveň problematické období první republiky. Vývoj česko-německých vztahů prochází v námi sledovaném tématu mnoha proměnami od iredentistického hnutí v roce 1918 přes aktivismus německých stran ve 20. letech až po neonegativismus, způsobený hospodářskou krizí, která zasáhla textilní průmysl Orlickoústecka velmi citelně. Cílem práce je přiblížit na základě dobových pramenů historii německého etnika na Orlickoústecku v meziválečném období, které je zde chápáno jako pokus o soužití dvou národů, které spojuje i rozděluje společně prožitý kus historie v demokratickém státě.

Abstract:

The work is occupying with the matter in question at “Sudeten Germen” and their history in the region of Orlickoústecko during interwar period. The history of Sudeten settlement in this part of Bohemia was continual from the great colonization in the thirteenth century. Since that time we can call them Sudeten etnicity that became authorized inhabitants of Czech countries, it is true, but it hadn´t created a national homogeneous formation within the bounds of the Czech state. The work observes from the point of view of mutual relationships between Czechs and Germen the fertilest and at the same time problematic period of the first republic. The development of Czech – German relationships passes in the observed topic through many changes from the iredentistic movement in 1918 over the activism of the German parties in 1920 th until neonegativism caused by the economic crisis which interfered textile industry of Orlickoústecko very sensitively. The aim of this work is to approach on the ground of timing sources the history of the German ethnic group on Orlickoústecko in the interwar period that is understood there as an attempt at coexistence of two nations. The common lived through part of history connects and divides these two nations in the democratic state.
