Abstract:
This thesis focuses on the study of female characters in plays by Eugene O'Neill. The purpose is to analyze and map the characters and provide explanations for their frequent depiction as manipulators and villains of the story. The study uses the plays Anna Christie, Strange Interlude and Mourning Becomes Electra for the analysis and includes the feminist theory, Freudian theory of the Oedipus complex …more

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na studii ženských postav dramatika Eugena O'Neilla. Jejím záměrem je nastudovat a zmapovat vybrané postavy a poskytnout možná vysvětlení, proč jsou často vyobrazované jako manipulátorky či zloduši.
