The experience of Ukrainian families with integration and assistance in the Czech Republic during the Russian invasion of Ukraine

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bude zmapovat příběhy ukrajinských rodin, které byly vlivem invaze Ruska na Ukrajinu nuceny opustit svoji rodnou zemi a následně se začlenily či se stále pokouší začlenit do české společnosti. První část práce bude věnována teoretickému ukotvení tématu. Stěžejními pojmy budou: integrace, migrace a migrační a azylová politika. Zmíněné budou také změny v migrační a azylové politice vyvolané přílivem uprchlíků z Ukrajiny a programy na pomoc této skupině. Praktickou část bude tvořit kvalitativní výzkum, jehož cílem bude zmapovat zkušenosti (pozitivní i negativní), které rodiny získaly při procesu začleňování do české společnosti. Použitou metodou bude případová studie s využitím rozhovorů jako výzkumného nástroje. Zvolenou skupinou informantů budou ukrajinské rodiny, které přišly během února a března 2022 do České republiky.

Abstract:

The thesis will aim to map the stories of Ukrainian families who were forced to leave their native country by Russia's invasion of Ukraine and subsequently integrated or are still trying to integrate into Czech society. The first part of the thesis will be devoted to the theoretical anchoring of the topic. The core concepts will be: integration, migration and migration and asylum policies. Changes in migration and asylum policy triggered by the influx of refugees from Ukraine and programmes to help the group will also be mentioned. The practical part will consist of qualitative research aimed at mapping the experiences (positive and negative) that families have gained in the process of integration into Czech society. The method used will be a case study using interviews as a research tool. The chosen group of informants will be Ukrainian families who came to the Czech Republic during February and March 2022.
