Amenity migration to rural areas of northern Bohemia

Abstract:

Amenitní migrace, jev spočívající v přesunu obyvatel z města na venkov v očekávání zlepšení kvality života, má mnoho aspektů. V osobní rovině lze zkoumat hodnotové orientace, názory a motivace, které vedou jedince k rozhodnutí o přestěhování do rurální oblasti. Ze společenského hlediska dochází k pronikání městského způsobu života do venkovských oblastí a kontaktu amenitních migrantů s komunitou dlouhodobých obyvatel. Aktivity přistěhovalců, stejně jako jejich názory, nemusí být lokální společností přijímány vždy pozitivně. Z geografického hlediska je však nejzajímavější kontext lokálního rozvoje, jehož nositelem mohou být právě amenitní migranti. Tato práce se věnuje uvedenému jevu v mnoha souvislostech. S využitím metody polostrukturovaných rozhovorů zkoumá hledisko postojů samotných amenitních migrantů, formování jejich vztahu k venkovu, příčinám a osobním důsledkům přestěhování, stejně jako jejich vliv na venkovskou lokalitu, který je mnohdy výrazný.

Abstract:

Amenity migration, the phenomenon of people moving from the city to the countryside in anticipation of improving the quality of life, has many aspects. On a personal level we can examine the value orientation, attitudes and motivations that lead an individual to the decision to move to rural areas. From a social point of view there is penetration of urban life to rural areas and amenity migrants contact with the community's long-term residents. Immigrant activities, as well as their opinions, may not always be accepted by the local community. From a geographic point of view, however, the most interesting context of local development is what the amenity migrants can bring. This work deals with this phenomenon in many contexts. Using the semi-structured interview method, it examines the attitudes of amenity migrants themselves, the formation of their relationship to the countryside, the causes and the personal consequences of the relocation, as well as their influence on a rural site, which is often significant.
