Grant programs in the field of professional dance art in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá dotačními programy v oblasti profesionálního tanečního umění v České republice. Je zde popsán význam podpory kultury, jak je kultura podporovaná v zahraničí a v České republice a jaká pro to existuje legislativní úprava. Dále je v práci vysvětlena problematika financováni tanečních souborů s kontinuální činností. Na základě toho jsou v práci podrobně analyzovány dotační programy Ministerstva kultury ČR a Magistrátu hlavního města Prahy v oblasti tance a také dotační programy, které byly mimořádně vyhlášeny za účelem zmírnění dopadů krize spojené s pandemií covidu-19. Jako praktický příklad je představen profesionální taneční soubor, který realizuje svoji činnost díky dotační podpoře, dále jak tento soubor ovlivnila pandemie covidu-19 a jak se mu daří v po pandemické době naplňovat svoje cíle.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with grant programs in the field of professional dance art in the Czech Republic. The meaning of cultural support is here described, how culture is supported abroad and in the Czech Republic, and what legislative regulation is here for it. Furthermore, the thesis explains the issue of financing proffesional dance companies with continuous activity. Based on this, the thesis analyzes in detail the grant programs of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the Prague City Hall in the field of dance, as well as grant programs that were exceptionally announced in order to mitigate the effects of the crisis associated with the covid-19 pandemic. As a practical example, a professional dance company is presented, which realizes its activities thanks to grant support, as well as how this company was affected by the covid-19 pandemic and how it succeeds in fulfilling its goals in the post-pandemic period.
