Development and Classification of Payment Cards - New Trends

Abstract:

Anotace Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku rozvoje nových trendů v oblasti trhu s platebními kartami v České republice i v celosvětovém kontextu. Klade si za cíl zhodnotit vývoj posledního období na kartovém trhu a upozornit na praktické využití nových technologií a služeb, které jsou s platebními kartami spojeny. Současně se však také zaměřuje na pokroky a trendy v oblasti bezpečnosti platebních karet a jejich použití spojené s těmito technologiemi. V úvodní kapitole jsou charakterizovány počátky vzniku platebních karet a jejich vývoj až k současnému stavu na kartovém trhu. Dále je zde také uveden popis a rozdělení základních kartových produktů na současném trhu, který je nutný pro kontinuální návaznost a rozbor služeb nově vázaných na současné karty nebo nových technologií. Druhá kapitola je věnována výše zmiňovaným novinkám v oblasti služeb, nabízených k platebním kartám a také novým technologiím, které nastupují v současnosti do praxe a popisu jejich praktického využití pro držitele karty včetně stručného zhodnocení. Třetí část diplomové práce obsahuje popis a hodnocení nejvýraznějšího nového produktu v oblasti bankovních platebních karet na českém trhu, dále pak jeho porovnání se standardní nabídkou ostatních bankovních ústavů, včetně zhodnocení přínosu pro uživatele oproti předchozí nabídce. Poslední kapitola je výpovědí o vývoji a současném náhledu na bezpečnost využívání platebních karet včetně nastínění nejnovějších trendů v oblasti bezpečnosti. Závěr stručně shrnuje celkové poznatky z jednotlivých částí práce

Abstract:

Annotation This diploma thesis deals with new trends on the payment-card market in the Czech Republic in the context of the worldwide development. The thesis objectives are to show new tendencies and to point out the practical usage of the latest technologies which are connected with payment cards. At the same time it concentrates on progress in payment-card security. The first chapter describes the payment-card development from the very beginning to the present state. Further on it deals with the payment-card categories to be met on current market. This is necessary to explain the new kinds of services connected with modern cards and the latest technologies. The second chapter is devoted to the above-mentioned innovations in the sphere of up-and –coming services which goes with modern payment cards as well as with technologies appearing nowadays. It points out their practical usage for card holders including their acknowledgement. The third chapter contains description and evaluation of the latest and the most distinctive payment-card product on Czech market and shows the benefits for card holders. The product has been compared with the standard offer of other bank institutions. The last chapter gives the perspectives of payment-card security and outlines the latest trends in this field. The conclusion summarizes the findings from the individual chapters
