Receptory aktivované peroxizómovými proliferátory patří do skupiny jaderných receptorů. Mají úlohu v transkripci a expresi cílových genů, které se podílejí na řízení metabolizmu, buněčné diferenciace a apoptózy. Jsou rozděleny do tří typů receptorů PPAR-, PPAR- a PPAR-, které se liší funkcí a mírou exprese v různých tkáních. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPAR) belong to the group of nuclear receptors. They have a role in the transcription and expression of target genes involved in the management of metabolism, cell differentiation and apoptosis.
