Gob Suqad: Heroes of Our Time

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce Gob Squad: hrdinové naší doby se zabývá prací britsko-německé performanční skupiny Gob Squad s důrazem na performance odehrávající se v prostoru města. První část práce představuje úvod do kontextu a zásadních východisek skupiny Gob Squad. Ve druhé části autorka blíže představuje práci skupiny a její tvůrčí metodu a zaměřuje se na otázku, jak s britskými a německými pojmy a fenomény operovat v českém teatrologickém prostředí. Ve třetí části analyzuje témata skupiny a její poetiku na příkladu performance Super Night Shot, již nahlíží mytologickou perspektivou na základě schématu monomýtu Josepha Campbella a jungiánskou perspektivou prostřednictvím archetypů. Analýze performance předchází analýza krize místa na základě konceptů Marca Augého, Christiana Norberga-Schulze a Jana Gehla. Za výzkumem performancí skupiny Gob Squad stojí otázka, jak může divadelní (performativní) perspektiva obohatit problematiku současného města.

Abstract:

Master's thesis Gob Squad: Heroes of Our Time deals with the work of the British-German performance group Gob Squad with an emphasis on performances taking place in an urban space. The first part of the work is an introduction to the context and fundamental starting points of the Gob Squad group. In the second part, the author introduces the work of the group and its creative method and focuses on the problematics of how to operate with British and German concepts and phenomena in the Czech theatrical environment. In the third part, the author analyses the themes of the group and its poetics on the example of the performance Super Night Shot, which is viewed from a mythological perspective based on the Joseph Campbell´s scheme of monomyth and from the Jungian perspective through archetypes. Performance analysis is preceded by an analysis of the crisis of the place based on concepts of Marc Augé, Christian Norberg-Schulz and Jan Gehl. Behind the research of the performances of the Gob Squad group is the question of how a theatrical (performative) perspective can enrich the issues of the contemporary city.
