Abstract:

Hnutí Armáda spásy, které bylo založeno v 19. století, zavedlo jedinečný způsob sdílení evangelia spásy spolu s materiální pomocí pro ty, kteří to potřebují, bez diskriminace rasy a náboženství. Její efektivní fungování brzy rozšířilo její působení do celého světa. Cílem této práce je pokusit se zodpovědět na otázku, co se stalo s posláním Armády spásy a zdůraznit klíčové oblasti, které ovlivnily vývoj poslání Armády spásy. Práce popisuje počátky Armády spásy, kdy se organizace šířila skrze hlásání evangelia, postupem času se začala rozšiřovat skrze práci primárně sociální. Nyní známe Armádu spásy jako uznávanou sociální organizaci, kam lidé přicházejí pro sociální pomoc, kterou vyhledávají. Armáda spásy byla rozdělena na dvě oddělené jednotky – jednu, která poskytuje sociální služby, a druhou, která se věnuje náboženským záležitostem. Tento proces oddělení má za následek, že mnoho klientů, kteří využívají sociální služby této organizace, se již nestává automaticky součástí náboženské komunity Armády spásy, jak tomu bylo v minulosti. Armáda spásy stále poskytuje duchovní a materiální pomoc potřebným, ale tento vývoj má dopad na způsob, jakým organizace předává své křesťanské poselství a jakým způsobem se snaží pomáhat potřebným.

Abstract:

Founded in the 19th century, the Salvation Army movement pioneered a unique way of sharing the gospel of salvation along with material aid to those in need without discrimination of race or religion. Its efficient operation soon extended its reach to the whole world. The aim of this thesis is to attempt to answer the question, what happened to the mission of the Salvation Army and to highlight the key areas that influenced the evolution of the mission of the Salvation Army? The work describes the beginnings of the Salvation Army, when the organization spread through preaching of the gospel, over time it began to expand primarily through social work. The Salvation Army is now known as a recognized social organization where people come for social help that they seek. The Salvation Army was divided into two separate units – one that provides social services and the other that deals with religious affairs. This process of separation has resulted in many clients who use the organization's social services no longer automatically becoming part of the Salvation Army religious community as they did in the past. The Salvation Army still provides spiritual and material aid to those in need, but this development has an impact on the way the organization communicates its Christian message and how it seeks to help those in need.
