Cieľom diplomovej práce je teoreticky klasifikovať zdroje financovania dlhodobého majetku a uskutočniť analýzu finančných zdrojov vybraného podniku, s cieľom navrhnúť optimálne využívanie zdrojov financovania. V prvej kapitole diplomovej práce sa definuje majetok podniku, zdroje jeho financovania, ktoré reprezentujú celkovú finančnú situáciu podniku.
