Contemporary medical slang

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce bude zaměřena na aktuálně užívané slangové výrazy v oblasti lékařství. Cílem práce bylo teoreticky vymezit pojmy slang a profesní mluva, shromáždit dostatečné množství jazykového materiálu a poté provést analýzu sebraných lexikálních jednotek. Výchozí jazykový materiál bude představovat soubor výrazů získaných z odborných zdrojů a především od uživatelů tohoto slangu, tj. lékařů, příp. dalších osob zaměstnaných ve zdravotnictví. Při kompletaci jazykového materiálu se bude uplatňovat metoda rozhovoru a metoda dotazníku. Následně budou slangismy analyzovány z hlediska svého původu, slovotvorné motivace, případné variability, expresivity apod.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis will focus on currently used slang expressions in the field of medicine. The aim of the work was theoretically define slang and professional speech, collect a sufficient amount of language material and then perform analysis of captured lexical units. The default language material will constitute the expression file obtained from specialised sources and especially by users of this slang, e.g. doctors, if necesery another persons employed in the health sector. When assembling the linguistic material will apply the method to an interview and questionnaire method. Then slangism will be analyzed in terms of their origins, formation of motivation, any variability, expressiveness, etc.
